Surgery

We perform surgeries including, but not limited to, spays, neuters, laceration repairs and growth removals. All patients receive an exam and bloodwork prior to anesthesia to ensure they are healthy enough for anesthesia. Pre-op medication is given- including pain medication. We place an IV catheter and give fluids throughout the procedure to help maintain hydration and blood pressure and for quick venous access in the event of an emergency. A technician will monitor anesthesia (with machine) including heart rate, respiration rate, blood pressure, oxygenation, body temperature.

We use laser therapy on the incision site for faster healing. Your pet is then placed in a monitored recovery area.

We also have boarded veterinary surgeons who will come to our clinic in Mount Pleasant if we need to for specialized surgeries.
